Are you interested in coaching? Please see below.

If you volunteer to be a coach or assistant coach, you must register as a coach in the Penn Legacy system where you register your players. This process will ask some generic risk management questions, and also if you completed your child clearance documents. If you have already completed your clearances, Penn Legacy does maintain a copy of your documents on file.
New this year is the Safe Sport certification. This is mandated training in response to Federal legislation and is not an Eastern Pa Youth Soccer mandate. The course is free for volunteers but will take some time to complete. We appreciate your willingness to comply with ALL federal and state laws regarding keeping children safe.

Future 6, 7 & 8 Coaches Training:
Sunday August 25, 2019 at 6:30-7:30pm at Junction Center Fields.
Sunday September 22, 2019 at 6:30-7:30pm at Junction Center Fields

A new Pennsylvania Child Protection Law became effective July 1, 2015.
• All adults 18 years and older applying for an unpaid position as a volunteer responsible for the welfare of a child and having direct contact with children, must have clearances that include:
o PA Child Abuse History clearance (free)
o PA State Police Criminal Records Check (free)
o An FBI Criminal Background Check if you have not been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for 10 years ($21.35)
• Volunteers not requiring an FBI check, and have been a continuous resident of PA for the last ten years must swear or affirm in writing (Act 153 Affidavit) that they have no other convictions that would disqualify them.
• Clearances are required prior to the commencement of service.
• The clearances are good for 60 months. They are portable and may be used with other organizations.

At present, the Child Abuse History Clearance may take 14 days for volunteers. The State Police records check is, or should be, instantaneous. Please plan accordingly.

For the more advanced/serious/experienced 2012 or 2013 born player Penn Legacy offers a pre-travel program known as PTP.
The PTP program is designed for players born in 2012 or 2013 with "more experience." The program provides players the opportunity to become even better by training in a professional environment with professional coaches and alongside like-minded players.
Click here for more info on PTP and to register.
